Infertile couple is defined as a couple being not able to conceive after having lived together for one year with regular sexual relations. The fault may lie either with male or female. Since the male partner’s problem can easily be pointed by a single “Semen Analysis” test, he should be the first to be investigated. If semen analysis is abnormal, further investigation and treatment may be required . If it is normal then the female partner should undergo investigations and treatment if required.
For the male, detailed investigations includes genetic analysis, advanced sperm analysis and ultrasound of the male genitalia. Advanced microsurgical treatment for varicocele, sperm harvesting from epididymis or testes, vasectomy or its reversal with sperm harvesting and storage is available.
